Wings add striker to squad and stage Trophy final

Wednesday 08th March 2006

Welling United manager Adrian Pennock has added Moses Jjunju to his squad and the former Redbridge striker is expected to play some part of Saturday’s Nationwide Conference South clash against Maidenhead United at Park View Road.

The young, pacy striker, has previously played for Bromley, Carshalton Athletic and Hastings United - having started his career at West Ham United.

Jjunju originally made the step up to his level, having signed by Margate boss Chris Kinnear during the summer of 2004, with the club groundsharing at Ashford Town.

A statement issued by www.wellingunited.com said:  “He has recently had trials with Dagenham & Redbridge before joining Welling United in March 2006

“In other news, (another former Margate striker), Che Stadhart will be fit to play against the Magpies, whilst former Gravesend & Northfleet full-back, Lee Gledhill starts his two-match suspension.”

Meanwhile, the Wings trip to Farnborough Town, which was postponed last night due to a waterlogged pitch at Cherrywood Road, has been re-arranged for Tuesday, 21st March.

* In other news, Park View Road has been selected as the venue for this season's Kent Senior Trophy Final between Tunbridge Wells and VCD Athletic.

The match has been brought forward a week at the request of both clubs to Sunday, 9th April (3pm), and will attract a big crowd for the showpiece final.
