Monday 22nd November 2010
WHITSTABLE TOWN have tonight unveiled the signing of midfielder Ant Bodle from Maidstone United - and he’ll make his debut in the must-win clash against Chipstead at Belmont Road on Tuesday night, writes Stephen McCartney.
Bodle, 21, who has made 61 first team starts for Ryman Premier League side Maidstone United, now works as a PE Teacher at nearby Whitstable Community College having recently passed his degree with a 2:1.
The midfielder has scored 5 goals from his preferred position of central midfield, as manager Mark Lane looks to shake up his squad and climb out of the Ryman League Division One South relegation zone.
Club secretary, Gary Johnson, told www.kentishfootball.co.uk, “Ant joins us from Maidstone United whom he played for since the age of fourteen. Ant has also played for Kent Schools and as a youth had trials at Tottenham Hotspur.
“Last Saturday Ant played in the Umbro 5s at Wembley, his second appearance on the hallowed turf.”
