As long as the players stay with us, we will have a very exciting season and hopefully raise a few eyebrows along the way, says Whitstable Bay manager Colin Patching

WHITSTABLE BAY manager Colin Patching says his side will be looking to raise a few eyebrows against Hollands & Blair on Saturday.

The newly-formed club play their first ever game against Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division opposition, at Reeves Way.

The club have secured a groundshare deal to play at Whitstable Rugby Club and will compete in the Premier Division of the Canterbury & District League this coming season.

Whitstable Bay will have three training sessions under their belt by the time they take on Bryan Greenfield’s side.

“We will be treating the game as a starting point of our build up to our first League game,” said Patching, who ran Whitstable Town’s under 21 side.

“We have a number of new younger players who we will be developing through the season and due to holiday’s many will play on Saturday.

“This season will be about developing our ground to a grade G-H facility and above developing the team to be ready for Step Six (Southern Counties East Football League First Division) next season, all being well.

“As long as the players stay with us, we will have a very exciting season and hopefully raise a few eyebrows along the way.”
