We need to be at our best to get anything out of Daventry tie, says Ramsgate boss Tim Dixon

RAMSGATE manager Tim Dixon says he is expecting a really tough FA Trophy tie at Daventry Town on Saturday.

The Rams make the long trip to Northamptonshire on the back of their 2-2 draw away to Horsham last night.

They are in seventh-place in the Ryman League Division One South table, having collected seven wins and three draws from sixteen league games.

Daventry Town, meanwhile, lie in fifth-place in the Calor (Southern) League Division One Central, having collected eight of their nine league games, six points adrift of league leaders Barton Rovers.

Daventry Town were knocked out of The FA Cup in the First Round after going down to a 2-0 defeat away to League Two side Chesterfield last weekend.

“I’m expecting a really tough game at Daventry, but Cup ties are one-offs,” said Dixon.

“They are having an exceptional season with a good FA Cup run where they made a good account of themselves, but we will go there and make it as difficult as possible but we will need to be at our best to get anything out of the tie.

“The lads know how important the match is and are really looking forward to it.”

When asked about team news, the Rams boss added: “We have Jim Sherman back from suspension and Jack Parter should be fit again and no injury problems from the draw with Horsham on Tuesday.”
