We must all pitch in to beat Dulwich, insists Miles - EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

Monday 20th November 2006

Chatham Town boss Phil Miles was delighted with his side after their 2-0 win over Tooting & Mitcham United at the weekend, writes Stephen McCartney.

“We played really well, defended really well and took our chances,” he said EXCLUSIVELY to www.kentishfootball.co.uk.

“I was a little bit disappointed with them as I felt they would be better than that, but I’m sure they’re a much better side at home.

“I’m not taking anything away from our guys as we deserved to win.”

Miles appreciated the positive comments about his side from Terror’s former Bromley management pair of Billy Smith and George Wakeling.

“Their managers said to me after the game that we deserved to win, which was nice as they’ve both been around a bit.”

Their fourth league win of the season gives Chatham confidence ahead of Tuesday night’s visit from second placed side Dulwich Hamlet - arguably one of the quickest sides in the league.

“We played them less than a month ago at their place and I felt on the night we deserved to get something out of the game, but it wasn’t to be,” recalled Miles.

“Our pitch is nowhere near the same quality as their pitch. If we have our minds on the game, play to the best of our ability, I’m confident we can take some points on Tuesday.”

Miles has concerns over Wayne Brown (hamstring), Tyran James (migraine), Mark Brooks (knee) but Ross Finn and Tom Binks (back from India) have both been drafted back into the squad.

Miles added: “I’m quite happy with the squad. We’ve got some tough games coming up. Hopefully we’ll have a good run up to Christmas and we’ll see after Christmas which position we are in. It will be nice to be in this position after Christmas.”
