Welling launch initiative to raise money for new floodlights

Thursday 01st February 2007
Nationwide Conference South leaders Welling United have launched a new initiative to raise money for their new floodlights, writes Stephen McCartney.

Both the Wings and Kent League side Erith & Belvedere have had to start their games on Saturday’s earlier than normal after recent storms brought down a floodlight pylon on the Welling side of the ground.

Five of the eight pylons had to be removed due to safety reasons.

The Welling Wall is a page on Welling United Official Website, where the public and local businesses can pledge £10.00 for a brick on our virtual wall (£1 per square). All the money raised from this virtual wall will go towards the new floodlights.

The virtual wall has been divided into squares, where you can have your name, logo, contact details and a clickable link to your website on the virtual wall.

The Welling United Official Website receives over 7000 unique views a month a perfect place to advertise your business.

However, even individuals can have their name and message on the wall for those that would still like to contribute to the project.

Squares are priced at £1 each, with the minimum order of 10 squares per business or individual. Though remember the more squares you order the bigger the impact on the website!

You can pay in two ways, either online via PayPal or via cheque. PayPal is the quickest option, accepting all major debit and credit cards. You do not need a PayPal account to donate. It is also safe, as your payment or financial information is never divulged to us or anyone else.

So if you would like to donate to this worthy cause please visit www.wellingunited.com.

Worcester City visit Park View Road in the third round of the FA Trophy on Saturday (2pm) but Erith & Belvedere’s game with Hythe Town has been postponed because Adrian Pennock’s side defeated Tamworth 2-1 in their FA Trophy replay at Gravesend & Northfleet’s Stonebridge Road on Tuesday night.
