We attempt to bounce back at the first attempt, says Thamesmead Town boss Keith McMahon

THAMESMEAD TOWN manager Keith McMahon says he is delighted that skipper Lewis Tozer has re-signed for the club.

The Mead will return to Ryman League Division One North after suffering relegation after just one season in the Ryman Premier League, where they finished third-from-bottom with 46 points from as many games.

“I’m over the moon that Toz has re-signed,” said McMahon.

“We had it tough last season and it’s good to see so many of the squad willing to re-sign as we attempt to bounce back into the Premier Division at the first attempt.”

The central defender is the fourteenth player whose services McMahon has secured ahead of the new season, which gets underway on 9 August.

Rob Budd, Jack Hopkins, Ashley Probets, Richard Butler, Simon Glover, Derek Duncan, Sean Roberts, Tyrus Gordon-Young, Rob Carter, Adem Ramadam, Rashid Kamara, Tom Jewers and Ross Murphy have all committed to the new season.

But goalkeeper Sam Mott, 25, who re-joined the club during last season after stints at Welling United and East Thurrock United, signed for Ryman Premier League side AFC Hornchurch yesterday.

Thamesmead Town finished in third-place in the Ryman League Division One North during season 2012/2013 and sealed promotion after beating Witham Town and Maldon & Tiptree in the play-offs.
