We are far from the finished article, says Ramsgate boss Tim Dixon

Thursday 19th December 2013
RAMSGATE boss Tim Dixon says his side will have to be at their very best if they are to come away from Leatherhead with three points on Saturday.

The Rams travel to Surrey sitting in eighth-place in the Ryman League Division One South table with 32 points from 22 games – three points adrift of fifth-placed Faversham Town.

Leatherhead are managed by former Sittingbourne boss Richard Brady and they have a high number of Kent-based players in their ranks.

The Tanners are in second-place in the table with 43 points from 22 games – two points behind surprise leaders Peacehaven & Telscombe, who are playing in the Ryman League for the very first time this season following their promotion.

Dixon said: “Really tough game this weekend against one of this season’s favourites to win the league and we really have to be at our best.”

The Rams welcome third-place Hastings United to Southwood Stadium on Boxing Day, Thursday 26th December (3pm).

Dixon then takes his side to fifth-placed Faversham Town (28 December) and then on to sixth-placed Folkestone Invicta on New Years Day.

The Rams boss said: “The programme that lies ahead is the toughest of any team in our league over this period and will be very challenging for us but very exciting as well.

“We have been both good and bad this season as you can see with our results but our aim remains the same and that is the play offs.

“There are some very good teams though this year who have strengthened their squads with players that have played in higher leagues but it is a great league to play in and we will continue to work hard as we are far from the finished article.”
