Truro is never an easy place to go to, says Welling United boss Jamie Day

Friday 22nd March 2013
WELLING UNITED manager Jamie Day says he wants to avoid back-to-back defeats in the West Country tomorrow.

The Wings currently lead the Blue Square Bet (Conference) South table and are six points clear of Salisbury City, with only eight games left to play.

But they went down to a 1-0 defeat away to Bath City in midweek, which ended a four-match unbeaten run and Day wants his side to avoid slipping up on a banana skin against basement side Truro City tomorrow.

The Cornwall club have been at the bottom of the table all season, having collected only eight league wins in their 34 league games and are sixteen points adrift of safety.

Day said: ”Saturday will be a very tough game as it’s never an easy place to go with the distance travelling but we were disappointing on Tuesday against Bath, so we need to put a good performance in tomorrow and hopefully get the right result.”
