Despite having Adrian Hatcher sent off for the use of an elbow after just seven minutes, Andy Garrett's goal on the stroke of half time ensured Martin Farnie's side won the west Kent derby at Greatness Park today to climb above Sporting Bengal United in the table on 9 points.

Steve Marshall's strike with just three minutes left saw Whitstable Town leapfrog over Thamesmead Town at the top of the Kent League table.  A crowd of 530 at Winch's Field was the highest in the Kent League so far this season.

The Fleet, who were without star striker Charlie MacDonald (trapped nerve in leg), secured a late winner from 18-year-old striker Onome Sodje, who lead the line with fellow 18-year-old, Luke Moore.   With the Fleet in sixth place in the Nationwide Conference table, they need to attract more than the 1,110 if they are to strengthen in January's transfer window.
