Sutton Athletic unveil Ryan Huckle as their new manager
SUTTON ATHLETIC have appointed Ryan Huckle as their new manager last night.
The Hextable based outfit lost the services of their previous manager Daniel Kelly on 9 January due to family and other commitments.
“As a club we are delighted Ryan accepted this role and we look forward to a new era for the club,” said a club statement.
“We would like to place on record a big thank you to everyone who applied for this position.”
It will be Huckle’s first appointment in senior football, having previously managed the under 18 side at Phoenix Sports.
Huckle added: “Firstly, I’d like to thank everyone for the warm welcome and express how delighted I am to take this job at such an ambitious football club.
“I’ll be working closely with John Ball, Guy Eldridge and Deren Ibrahim to build foundations for success moving forward.
“I look forward to meeting the supporters on Saturday and can’t wait to get started.”
Sutton Athletic are in the bottom five (seventeenth) in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 17 points (four wins, five draws and 13 defeats) from their 22 league games.
Kennington (16 points from 22 games), Rusthall (16 points from 24 games), Welling Town (16 points from 22 games) and Stansfeld (15 points from 23 games) are beneath them in the league table.
The Sutts – without a win in their last three games – travel to fifteenth-placed side Hollands & Blair on Saturday, before Huckle’s first home game at Lower Road will be against their relegation rivals Rusthall on 27 January.
