Striker Cooper shown the door

Kevin Cooper has left Dover Athletic by mutual consent, writes Justin Allen - www.doverathletic.com

The striker, who recently signed from Met Police, took chairman Jim Parmenter up on his recent offer to rip up contracts of any player who sees their future elsewhere.

Mr Parmenter said: "Kevin was a bit disappointed by the fans' reaction here and also felt his form wasn't good at the moment.

"It's one of those things that happen. We don't have a problem with Kevin and his departure was amicable."

Meanwhile, the board of directors will be making an announcement about the club's future on Saturday at 1pm. The announcement will be made simultaneously at the ground and on the club’s website ahead of their Ryman League Division One game against Molesey.
