Paul Bowden-Brown takes the helm at Staplehurst Monarchs after club announces chair Nicola Stonebridge has stepped down from her roles
STAPLEHURST & MONARCHS chair Nicola Stonebridge has stepped down from her roles at the Southern Counties East Football League First Division club.
“It is with regret that I have resigned my positions as Chair of the Senior Section, welfare officer and Vice-Chair of the CIC with immediate effect,” said Stonebridge in a statement.
“I have achieved so much in my time as Chair, including the formation of the first ever women’s team and bringing the junior and senior sections back together as one club and know that I leave the club in a good position for the future.
“I wish all the players and volunteers the best for the upcoming season and beyond.”
A club statement added: “Nic has been a driving force behind much of the club’s recent progress and her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Monarchs into the unified, community-focused club it is today.
“The club would like to thank Nic for her outstanding service, tireless dedication and unwavering support for grassroots football.
“Her legacy at Staplehurst Monarchs is lasting and she departs with the full appreciation and respect of everyone associated with the club.
“In addition, John Stonebridge has also stepped down from his role as youth chair.
“In the meantime, the club’s Chairman of the CIC board, Paul Bowden-Brown will take on the responsibilities of the chair’s role and ensure strong support across all areas of the club.”
Ian Docker has recently been appointed first-team manager and Chris Price will manage the under 23s with Elliot Haywood managing the women’s side.
The Monarchs open their pre-season campaign with a trip to Cuxton 1991 on Saturday 5 July.
