STANSFELD have announced that joint-managers Billy Hamlin and Jamie Phipps have withdrawn their offers of resignation.

The pair submitted their resignations on Sunday 8 September and the club used Twitter to issue the following statement.

“It is with deep regret that the Stansfeld committee have accepted the resignation of joint-managers Billy Hamlin and Jamie Phipps.

“The committee would like to place on record their thanks for all their hard work, effort and dedication they have put in during their period with the club.”

However, the club issued a statement earlier today to confirm that the two managers have had a change of heart.

“The Stansfeld committee are delighted to announce that after numerous conversations joint-managers Billy Hamlin and Jamie Phipps have reconsidered their resignation and will continue in their positions as joint-managers of the first team.”

The club are in ninth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table, having picked up two wins and a draw from their opening five games.

Stansfeld bounced back from their FA Vase First Qualifying Round exit by losing 3-1 at home to Sidlesham in a Replay by thrashing Lydd Town 6-2 on Saturday, a day before they told the club that they were stepping down, for a couple of days.

Stansfeld’s next game is at home to FC Elmstead at Foxbury Avenue in Chislehurst on Tuesday 17 September 2019 (19:45).
