MARGATE have announced that their long-standing partnership with Thanet Passport will be extended for this coming season, with the Isthmian League Premier Division club committing to welcome more primary schools to Hartsdown Park.

Supporters of The Gate will have spotted more primary school children visiting the club last season, due to the hard work of Thanet Passport, who help organise and support primary school sports festivals and competitions across the district.

Since its formation five years ago, Thanet Passport now has annual participation figures of over 9,000, with a third of children attending primary school in the Thanet District taking part in at least one of the 60+ Passport events and festivals.

Hartsdown Park is proud to host a number of these events and open its doors to school children to support the First Team on a Saturday afternoon.

For the upcoming campaign, Thanet Passport will invite schools from across the local area to enjoy a game, perform a guard of honour for players, take part in our half-time penalty shoot-out competitions and assist the first team as ball boys and girls.

Margate’s general manager Deny Wilson told www.margate-fc.com that the club are delighted that more school children than ever before will have the opportunity to visit the club.

“I’m pleased that we will continue to work with Thanet Passport this season. The schools and events we hosted last year proved a stellar example of good partnership work which we’re committed to improving upon year on year.

“We hope the opportunity to bring a group to a match day at Hartsdown Park is one teachers and schools will want to take up. It perfectly supports our Mini Gators School programme with PACE Academy which saw us deliver three free hours of football coaching to over 400 schoolchildren.

"That, combined with the match day experience work, means there’s lots of enriching community work taking place for our supporters to take real pride in.”

Gary Rees, chairman and administrator, Thanet Primary Association for School Sport, added: “For the past two seasons our primary school children and their families have enjoyed their ‘Margate Mascot Matchday Experience’ and have always received a warm welcome at Hartsdown Park.

"Thanet Passport is delighted to continue working in partnership with Margate FC and I believe that with this initiative we are helping to generate the supporters of the future."

TONBRIDGE ANGELS manager Steve McKimm has released defender Callum Adonis-Taylor, 20.

He came through the Angels youth system before breaking into the first team during the 2016-18 season and made a total of 36 appearances for the club.

“I’d like to thank Callum for his efforts over the last three seasons, also for his work with junior and youth players. He never let me down and I wish him all the best of luck for the future,” McKimm told www.tonbridgeangels.co.uk.
