WELLING UNITED manager Mark Goldberg has today added four new signings ahead of the relegated club Vanarama National League South return.

The Wings finished their Vanarama National League campaign in last place as Loui Fazakerley, Dean Frost and Goldberg took charge of the club.

Bermondsey-boy Danny Waldren, 27, reunites with Goldberg following a season at Ryman Premier League side Dulwich Hamlet after the pair helped Bromley win the Conference South title on 18 April 2015 – the club’s first title in 54 years.

Waldren has much respect for Goldberg and still a fans’ favourite at Hayes Lane, before Goldberg released him last summer and he spent one season at Dulwich Hamlet, where he scored six goals for Gavin Rose’s side.

“I’m pleased with our initial signings as we rebuild our squad for the future, number one signing is Danny Waldren, who for many years has captained my sides,” Goldberg told www.wellingunited.com/wp.

“Danny led Bromley in my Conference South title winning year. Danny is a great player and most importantly he is a great character and a leader on the park.

Former Margate right-back Mitchell Nelson, 26, and left-back Jordan Brown, have also signed for the Wings from Dulwich Hamlet.

“Both Jordan Brown and Mitchell Nelson, who I have admired as opposition in the past, have great pedigree, strength and pace to provide a solid foundation at the back,” added Goldberg.

Goldberg completed today’s signings by signing left-sided defender and winger Oliver Sprague, 22, from Ryman Premier League side Hendon.

“Oliver Sprague is a young talent who has already been very much on the radar of the England C team, giving us options at left-back and left-wing.”

DOVER ATHLETIC striker Stefan Payne has today signed a two-year deal with Barnsley.

The 24-year-old signed for Dover Athletic in June 2014 and was the club’s top scorer in both of his seasons at Crabble.

Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter told www.doverathletic.com: “Stefan joined us from Hornchurch a couple of years ago and has since developed into a fine player, who has contributed a lot to what we have achieved in the last two seasons.

“We have a young, ambitious squad here at the club and look forward to continuing to develop players at Dover Athletic.”

MARGATE have unveiled the signing of former Bromley striker Elliott Buchanan, 26, from their Vanrama National League South rivals Bishop’s Stortford.

Buchanan was the league’s top goalscorer last season banging in 29 goals and manager Nikki Bull was delighted to capture another proven goalscorer at this level ahead of the new season.

“It is magnificent to be able to announce the signing of Elliott, who bagged 28 League goals last season in the National League South,” Bull told www.margate-fc.co.uk.

“Last year we struggled to score goals so I was delighted to be able to complete this signing early on in the summer.”

BROMLEY defender Jack Holland has been recalled to the 16-man England C squad for the International Challenge Trophy match against holders Slovakia Under 21s, which is to be played at Sutton United’s Gander Green Lane on Sunday, 5 June at 14:00. All fans can watch the game for FREE.

Holland scooped Bromley’s supporters’ player-of-the-year award at the end of the club’s debut National League campaign in a season where he featured at centre half, right-back and even as a makeshift striker.

Holland is joined in the squad by goalkeeper Brandon Hall (Ebbsfleet United) and defender Sean Raggett (Dover Athletic).
