We are not getting any luck and we are being punished for every small mistake we make, says Snodland Town assistant manager Dave Jeal

SNODLAND TOWN assistant manager Dave Jeal says his players’ have been working hard in training to turn around their poor run of form.

Snodland Town travel to fifth-placed Sutton Athletic tomorrow sitting in the bottom six, having celebrated winning eight and drawing two of their 24 league games.

“Our last game we lost 5-4 to Bridon Ropes, which was a really disappointing result on top of our recent poor form,” reflected Jeal.

“We found ourselves 3-1 down despite playing quite well but the lads showed great spirit to come back and eventually go ahead at 4-3 with only 10 minutes remaining. The last 10 minutes we stopped playing, conceded two goals and lost a game we should have won.”

Snodland Town travel to Hextable with five defeats on the bounce but Jeal has revealed a new training regime for his players’.

“We are on a horrible run of form currently but the last three games the performances have been good.

“We are not getting any luck and we are being punished for every small mistake we make, which tends to happen as we know.

“However, the spirit within the team is still good.  We have started training twice a week to improve fitness and the lads are working hard on this.

“We are still working with professional coaches and we have been concentrating on our shape when we defend to make it harder for us to be broken down.

“We know we have conceded far too many goals this year (59). The boys are taking it on board and I am convinced their hard work this past month will eventually come good at some point we are going to play somebody off the park and hopefully that will be tomorrow against Sutton.

“We know Sutton are going well this season and we lost quite heavily to them at our place.

“I am confident we will be a much tougher prospect this time round.”

Defender Scott Potter is out with an ankle injury, while six-goal striker Aaron Chillies is back after a few weeks out injured.
