Soccer Elite chief coach Aslan Odev gets his big chance as Sittingbourne's caretaker manager

Tuesday 30th January 2018

SITTINGBOURNE appointed Aslan Odev as their caretaker manager last night following Nick Davis’ shock resignation on Saturday night.

“A committee meeting on Monday evening unanimously agreed to give Odev the chance to step up from his role as coach,” said a club statement.

“Odev who is local from the Isle of Sheppey, is a chief coach at Soccer Elite.

“Odev will be in charge for the first time when Sittingbourne visit South Park on Saturday, but will be taking training on Thursday.

“It is expected that the majority of players will remain with the club and the other backroom staff have all stayed.”

Davis dropped a bombshell when he announced on Saturday night that he resigned as manager following the club’s 3-1 home defeat to Horsham, which leaves the club in fourteenth-place in the Bostik South Division table, with a playing record of 14 wins, six draws and 13 defeats and have collected 42 points.
