www.kentishfootball.co.uk are saddened to hear of the death of a passionate Dover Athletic supporter following their game at Hastings United on Boxing Day, and we offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends concerned.

Simon Davis, a long-standing Dover Athletic supporter, was killed in a motoring accident on Boxing Day evening near his home in Swingate.

Mr Davis attended the Ryman League Division One South game at Hastings United and only last week made a passionate plea for supporters to rally around the club on a fans’ internet forum following a poor run of results.

Simon, well known to most of the supporters at Crabble, and called himself “Celery”, leaves behind wife Zoe, two young children - and a lot of friends.

A statement issued by Dover Athletic Football Club said: “Everyone involved with Dover Athletic send their condolences to his family at this very sad time.”
