Sesay handed Premiership chance

Margate has received a number of enquiries about their contracted youngster Osman Sesay.

As part of the Ryman Premier League club's policy to support the progress of any player with the opportunity of joining a Football League club, the directors have approved an approach from Premiership side Fulham, who will take the 18-year-old to Craven Cottage for weeks trial, starting on Monday.

Meanwhile, Folkestone Invicta’s highly-rated defender John Guest, 24, has signed an 18-month deal at Nationwide Conference South outfit Welling United, and is expected to be in the squad for the visit of Basingstoke Town today.

Moving in the opposite direction are former Dover Athletic pair, defender Lee Shearer, and striker/midfielder, Matt Carruthers.

Neil Cugley's side, who have won their last three games, face a tough test when Fisher Athletic visit the Buzzlines Stadium.

Wings boss Adrian Pennock has added 25-year-old former Gillingham player Jimmy Corbett on non-contract terms, having signed him from Ryman Premier League side, Heybridge Swifts.

Corbett moved from Gillingham to Blackburn Rovers in May 1998 in a move worth more than £500,000 and subsequently had spells at Portsmouth, Darlington and Southend United, where he was released at the end of last season.
