See the Fleet for FREE in play off push!

Thursday 05th April 2007
Gravesend & Northfleet are granting spectators free admission to a crucial home game as the push for a place in the Conference play offs intensifies, writes Charles Webster.

Free tickets for the Thursday night game at home to Northwich Victoria on April 19th will be distributed to paying spectators attending the previous home game versus Southport on Saturday, April 14th.

Existing season ticket holders who attend the Southport game will also be issued with a ticket. This can then be passed on to a friend to use at the Northwich game.

Fleet chairman Jason Botley explained the rationale behind the initiative.

He said:  "There are no other games taking place in our region on the evening of the Northwich game and we could attract a bumper crowd.

“We are within touching distance of a place in the play offs and we really want as many people as possible in the ground to cheer the team home.

“By issuing a ticket voucher at the Southport game we will be rewarding the loyal fans who have supported us throughout the season and we may attract some newcomers who want to take advantage of this offer.

"Liam Daish and the players are always saying what a lift they get from the support of the home crowd and we want fans to come along and make as much noise as possible.

“The game is also the second of three home games in a week and by offering free admission to the Northwich game it makes life just a little bit easier for supporters to get along to each of the matches."

Admission prices for the Southport game are £12 for Adults and £6 for concessions.

Up to two kids are admitted free with every paying adult.

The Fleet welcome Forest Green Rovers to Stonebridge Road on Easter Saturday before making the trip to Altrincham on Easter Monday.

Following their games against Southport and Nortwich Victoria at Stonebridge Road they welcome St Albans City on Saturday, 21st April, before making the short trip to league leaders Dagenham & Redbridge on the final day of the league season – but Kent's highest ranked non-league team will be looking to extend their campaign into May.
