Rye make appeal to find stand-in goalkeeper

Monday 20th November 2006

Rye United manager Mike Robbins is desperately searching for a goalkeeper to play for the east Sussex side against Eastbourne Town on Tuesday night, writes Stephen McCartney.

Robbins’ number one choice James Colman is unavailable due to work commitments and Josh Willis has been approached by Ryman League Division One South club Sittingbourne.

Third choice Harry Killick is suffering from a bout of flu’ so Robbins, the former manager of Ashford Town’s reserves and Kent League side Hythe Town, is looking for a favour from Kent managers to lend him a goalkeeper for the home game.

“The standard of our league is very high as Hythe and Sevenoaks know having lost to Sussex County League sides in the FA Vase on Saturday,” Robbins said in an EXCLUSIVE appeal to www.kentishfootball.co.uk.

“It could be an ideal scenario for one of the Kent managers to have a look at a lad in first team action without the complication of the league forms getting in the way.”

Any goalkeeper or manager who is interested should contact Mike Robbins on 07788 135 316 and sign before the 2pm deadline.
