Ryan's departure frees up some cash for Lovell
Monday 20th October 2008
LEFT-BACK, Robbie Ryan, 31, has left Ashford Town with immediate effect, writes Sam Dixon.
Ryan, who played in a FA Cup final for Millwall, joined the Ryman League Division One South club in the summer from Blue Square South side, Welling United, and made eleven appearances.
Explaining the departure, Nuts & Bolts manager, Steve Lovell, told www.ashfordtownfc.co.uk that Ryan is surplus to requirements at The Homelands.
He said: “With Daniel Brathwaite returning to the club, I believe there is enough cover in that position and releasing Robbie will free up some money to strengthen in other areas.”
