Rusthall boss Jimmy Anderson appoints Sam Groombridge as his new assistant

Wednesday 08th June 2022

RUSTHALL manager Jimmy Anderson has appointed Sam Groombridge as his new assistant manager going into next season.

Groombridge made the surprise decision to leave Isthmian League South East Division side Corinthian in January to become first team coach at Jockey Farm Stadium.

“Jimmy thanked Stephen Harper for his services over the last four years or more both as a player and assistant manager and wished him well for the future,” said a club statement.

“Sam Groombridge is no stranger to the Rusthall technical area since joining as first-team coach back in January.

“The squad will return to training next week as preparation for the new season which begins after nearly six weeks off.”

Rusthall finished in the bottom three in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division last season, picking up 24 points from their 38 league outings.

The 2022-23 Premier Division campaign gets under way on Saturday 30 July.

Anderson, meanwhile, has been Rusthall's manager for three years.
