Rowland reaches Stones' milestone

Monday 20th February 2006
Since joining Kentish Observer League leaders Maidstone United from their higher league neighbours Tonbridge Angels at Christmas 2003, striker Lynden Rowland has played (in two spells) 79 times for the Stones, including a further seven substitute appearances.

His goal at Slade Green in their 2-1 on Saturday win was his 50th goal for the club, giving him a strike average of a goal every 1.72 games.

His first goal for Maidstone United was in a 4-0 victory against local rivals Lordswood at Bourne Park on 27th December 2003.

He has scored three hat-tricks for the club, one in the league against Thamesmead Town, and two in FA Vase ties, last season against AFC Totton and against Eastbourne Town this term.

Maidstone travel to VCD Athletic (Greenwich Borough's Harrow Meadow ground in Eltham) on Thursday night, and host Whitstable Town (at Sittingbourne's Bourne Park) on Saturday.
