Ramsgate 0 Leatherhead 0

Wednesday 11th January 2006
A lot of hard work and sand saved last night's Ryman League Division One  fixture between Ramsgate and Leatherhead from being called off.

The Rams ground out a draw against a lively Leatherhead side to move within a point of second placed Tooting & Mitcham, who they visit on Saturday, and three points behind League leaders Horsham (although they have two games in hand over both of these clubs).

An extremely confident display from new goalkeeper James Plumley, including two excellent saves in the first half, helped the Rams keep a clean sheet.

At the other end 'keeper Dunn managed to tip a left-volley from David Cory over the crossbar in the opening minutes, which pretty much set the tone for the evening, with the usual culprits creating chances and coming so close on many occasions.

Ramsgate: James Plumley, Edd Vahid, Michael Cassar, Liam Morris, Ollie Schulz, Simon Pettit (Lee Minshull 77), Michael Yianni, Warren Schulz, Shaun Welford, Steffan Ball, David Cory (Ben Lalsett 72). Subs Unused: James Gregory, Sam Denly and Jurgen Wild.
