I’m not going to panic! I believe in my management team, my players and myself to get us out of trouble, vows Punjab United manager Chipie Sian

PUNJAB UNITED manager Chipie Sian says his side has nothing to fear against AFC Croydon Athletic tomorrow.

Sian takes his side to Thornton Heath for a Kent Senior Trophy Preliminary Round tie still sitting at the foot of the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with two points from seven games.

AFC Croydon Athletic are in fourteenth-place in the table, having collected eight points from their six league outings.

Punjab United have won both of their FA Vase ties, having beaten Selsey (5-0) and Loxwood (3-2) at the Elite Venue and have since claimed draws against Glebe (1-1) and Erith & Belvedere (2-2) in their last two outings.

“It’s been a slow start but we have started to perform and I hope the results will come shortly,” said Sian.

“Our last four games, including the FA Vase games, have showed we can play at this level.

“We should have picked up six points from the last two league games. We played so well and created plenty of chances but we took two points.

“We have to keep plugging away. We have worked hard behind the scenes in training to get them playing my way and it’s started to show.

“Neil Hunter and Jindi Banwait  have been fantastic in supporting me in training to get the team playing a certain way as we have new players, which do take time to settle in.

“I’m not going to panic!  I believe in my management team, my players and myself to get us out of trouble.

“We have a good bunch here and I hope we can continue our good run in the Kent Senior Trophy tomorrow against AFC Croydon Athletic.

“It’s going to be tough but it’s a cup game and we have nothing to fear.”

Sian will hand two sixteen-year-olds their debut at Mayfield Stadium.

“George Wells and Joe Salmon have been excellent in training and playing for my under 18s  and deserve a chance in the first team tomorrow,” added Sian.
