PRESS RELEASE

Sunday 18th February 2007

Please read the press release that was issued on Sunday evening:

A football website that devotes itself to non-league football in Kent, is searching for sponsors.

www.kentishfootball.co.uk is the brainchild of Tunbridge Wells resident, Stephen McCartney, 30.

His first taste for football journalism came when he was the unpaid and hard working press officer at Ryman Football League club Bromley during a three year period.

He edited their match day programme, website and raised thousands of pounds for the club through his excellent public relations skills.

But a parting of ways in June 2003 meant Stephen wanted to run a website that did enhance clubs, at all levels of the game, profile within the media.

And since June 2003, through Stephen’s dedication,
www.kentishfootball.co.uk
has become a very highly-rated and informative website.

It attracts a monthly readership of over 50,000 which includes managers, players, club officials and supporters that all reside in the Garden of England.

Stephen attends at least two matches each week, writing match reports and brings many exclusive manager interviews, either before or after matches.

However, trying to attract sponsors and backers for the website is a different kettle of fish.

“I don’t have any difficulties telephoning managers but ringing companies and asking them to sponsor the website is a different matter,” he said.

“I feel that I have an excellent product. Everybody that I speak to appreciate the work that I put into the website - I just want the backing from businesses in Kent.

“Ideally I am looking for the business community that the website serves to assist with the running costs, which will enable me to run the website on a full-time basis, thus giving me the opportunity to bring more interviews and to run a much better service.

A figure of £10,000 per year is needed to do that and Stephen is looking for either one major sponsor to assist or several companies to come forward.

He said: “If you do sponsor the website I will give your company a banner advert on the website, a link towards your website, as well as run advertising features on your company.

“I have so many idea’s for the website in the future. I’m just waiting to hear from the Kentish business community, or people who are involved in football to come forward to enable me to turn my dreams into reality.”
