I would love to reach 60 points but this will be really hard for us considering we are down to bare bones and face the two best sides in the division, says Phoenix Sports boss Steve O'Boyle

PHOENIX SPORTS manager Steve O’Boyle says he wants to end their debut Ryman League campaign with much-improved form at home.

Phoenix Sports are in a respectable fourteenth-place in the Ryman League Division One North table, having collected 55 points with three games of their season remaining.

They host the top two clubs in their next couple of games, second-placed Harlow Town tomorrow and champions-elect AFC Sudbury seven days later, before completing their campaign against a Heybridge Swifts side battling to save their league status at the wrong end of the table.

O’Boyle’s side were defeated 1-0 away to Great Wakering Rovers in their last game and the manager said: “We were away to Great Wakering Rovers, we should’ve got something out of the game but we are finding it hard to score goals at the moment.

“We have two really tough home games left against the top two sides then a trip away to Heybridge on the final game of the season.

“I would love to reach 60 points but this will be really hard for us considering we are down to bare bones and face the two best sides in the division.

“It would be nice to get a home win before the end of the season in front of our home fans.  Our away form has been really good but our home form has been the complete opposite.”
