Miles' appointed head coach at Harrow Meadow - EXCLUSIVE

Sunday 04th June 2006
Phil Miles, the former joint-manager of Slade Green, has tonight been unveiled as the new first team head coach at their Kent League rivals Greenwich Borough, writes Stephen McCartney.

Miles, who along with Terry Malin left their posts at the Small Glen club in April, will be helped out on a casual basis by Ray Bagnell – the former reserve team boss at Slade Green and Erith & Belvedere.

Recently appointed secretary, Barry Feist told www.kentishfootball.co.uk
tonight: “The club are very pleased to have Phil and Ray on board.  We feel that they will be a great asset to our team for the forthcoming season and beyond.”

Chris Cosgrove retains his position as first team manager at Harrow Meadow and also has the Director of Football title.

And former Sevenoaks Town manager Gary Davies returns to the club as Cosgrove’s assistant.

Mr Feist added: “Gary has a great deal of experience in football and has been with the Borough before.  Gary has also been manager of Crockenhill and Sevenoaks Town.

“We welcome Gary on board and everyone looks forward to working with him this coming season.”

Meanwhile, former Cray Wanderers’ pair, Adam Heaslewood and Danny Evans, are expected to fill Miles’ boots at Slade Green, although no official confirmation has come from the club.

But Slade Green spokesman Robert Smith, did reveal tonight: "For the record we actually had four applications for the vacant job and that was without even advertising the position."
