Thursday 03rd August 2006

Thamesmead Town manager Keith McMahon insists his side are ready for their Kent League opener against Tunbridge Wells on 12th August.

But he is searching for a striker having been “let down” by former Faversham Town striker Ross Cable, although his brother Rikki is still very much in his plans.

Speaking about Ross Cable, whose now been released, McMahon told www.thamesmeadtownfc.co.uk  : “I was very disappointed with Ross, we are meant to be friends but he let me and the club down.

“He twice didn't turn up for games and didn't bother ringing me to let me know why, I thought I deserved a bit more respect from him, but that's up to him.

“I’m only worried about players that want to play for the club but I wish him well where ever he goes.

“His brother Rikki is still with us and plays better on his own, which will do him the world of good, but I am on the look out for another striker to bolster the squad, but I’m in no rush."

Kent County League side Stansfeld Oxford & Bermondsey Club are the visitors to Bayliss Avenue on Saturday, kick off is at 3pm.
