I couldn’t wait to come down and sign for Margate, says goalkeeper Jonathan Miles

“It was a bit differently previously. We played on grass to start and we were in a relegation dog-fight at the time but it was good and I was really welcomed by everybody,” Miles told www.margate-fc.co.uk.

“I like to think I did well in tough circumstances and I’m now looking forward to getting started again.”

Miles explained why his agent suggested a return move to Hartsdown Park, dropping down a couple of divisions from Vanarama National League side Ebbsfleet United to Bostik Premier Division Margate.

“I heard from my agent that Margate were interested and I knew straightaway that I was keen, especially because of the manager and his track record at this level and above.

“I couldn’t wait to come down and sign really.

“I want to come in. I want to play as many games as possible and I want to help this team push as high as possible and hopefully get promoted.

“At this level you need young talent and a bit of experience and I think we will have a nice blend.”
