Margate footballers spread Christmas cheer to kids on the Rainbow Ward

MARGATE footballers spread a bit of Christmas cheer to kids at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in the town this evening.

 

Manager Steve Watt, chairman Alistair Bayliss and players Frannie Collin, Liam Friend, James Rogers, Ben Swift and Ben Wynter handed out goody bags to the kids spending Christmas on the Rainbow Ward.

Mr Bayliss Tweeted: “I’m really proud to have been involved and thrilled that (our players) took time out to represent the club and got so involved.”

Watt, who has guided the club to eighth-place in the Bostik Premier table, added: “It was a pleasure and a privilege to meet the staff and young patients of the Rainbow Ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital this evening. Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas.”

The club also took to Twitter to thank hospital staff for their hospitality.

“A pleasure to visit the Rainbow Ward at Queen Elizabeth Hospital this evening.  Thank you to the team of nurses for making us feel welcome as we delivered some Christmas goody bags.”
