Margate season ticket holders will be given free admission next season as club marks 125th anniversary

MARGATE have contacted all of their current season ticket holders to offer them a free season ticket for next season.

The past two Isthmian League Premier Division campaigns were abandoned due to the coronavirus health pandemic and fans that held a season ticket during the 2019-20 campaign for matches at Hartsdown Park will be offered a free one, while fans’ can make a donation to their beloved football club.

The 2021-22 Isthmian League Premier Division campaign will kick-off on Saturday 14 August 2021.

“Hartsdown Park has been a quiet place to be so far in 2021, however, with the easing of lockdown, we have been please to welcome players back to Hartsdown Park to enjoy playing football once again,” said a club statement.

“Whilst 2020-21 came to a premature conclusion, our attention is firmly set on our upcoming campaign in the Isthmian League.

“After two disrupted seasons, we are hoping to be able to welcome supporters back home to support manager Jay Saunders and his side.

“Your support – as always – has been unwavering throughout the difficulties and challenges of the past 12 months.

“Margate Football Club has been a part of the fabric in our local community for 125 years, an achievement we plan to celebrate in style this season.  The consistent, underlying factor of this incredible achievement are our supporters.

“The past year and the last few months especially have crystalised how important football clubs like ours are to the local community. Hartsdown Park is our home but it has not felt the same without our fans.  They have stuck by us during the tough times and we want them by our side and on our terrace, as we look ahead to a positive, new campaign.

“To acknowledge and thank our supporters (and as a celebratory token of our 125^th birthday) we’d like to give you your 2021-22 season ticket free of charge.

“We understand there will be some supporters who still wish to contribute to the club in some way, especially to mark our 125^th season.  We ask, should you wish to do so, you simply make a donation.  Funds raised will go directly to making sure the football club’s 125h year is a successful one.

“We are counting down the days until Saturday 14 August 2021 when competitive football will resume at Hartsdown Park.  There is plenty of hard work, preparation and organisation to do between now and then but we hope we can count on you to be with us and the players as we do so.”
