Manager Hayden Bird parts company with Bromley

Monday 06th June 2011
BROMLEY have today accepted the resignation of manager Hayden Bird after eighteen months at Hayes Lane, writes Stephen McCartney.

Bird, who guided the club to eleventh place in the Blue Square Bet South table and to the Kent Senior Cup Final last season, has decided to step down from his on the field role with immediate effect, following a meeting with the club’s owner Jerry Dolke.

The former Carshalton Athletic boss joined Bromley as part of Mark Goldberg’s management team in January 2010, before taking on the mantle of manager himself following Goldberg’s departure a year later.

A club statement, which was published on www.bromleyfc.net, said, “Everyone at the club would like to thank Hayden for his energy and enthusiasm in both the dugout and dressing room over the last eighteen months.

“The board are currently in discussions with a couple of parties interested in investing in the club and will therefore not be making an immediate decision upon Hayden’s replacement.”
