The season so far has gone well and to plan, says Lordswood boss Richard Styles

Friday 20th October 2017

LORDSWOOD boss Richard Styles says his players know what they need to do to get past Spelthorne Sports in The FA Vase First Round tomorrow.

Lordswood make the trip to Ashford in Middlesex sitting in fifth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 22 points from their 11 league outings and they are also on an impressive 12 match unbeaten run.

Spelthorne Sports, meanwhile, go into the game in the top six in the Combined Counties League Premier Division table with six wins, two draws and four defeats in the league.

“A run in The FA Vase is always a good thing for club’s at this level because it is an exciting competition to be in as well as everything else that comes with it, with playing teams from further afield and being involved in a national competition and of course the financial reward,” said Styles.

“We are expecting a tough game tomorrow away from home but we are going there to win the game.  We know what we need to do to get through.

“The season so far has gone well and to plan.  The lads have been superb. We’ll just keep approaching every game in the way we do and keep working hard in between matches.
