Richard Dimmock steps down as Lordswood manager after losing 22 of his 39 league games in charge

Monday 09th January 2023

LORDSWOOD begin the search for a new manager after Richard Dimmock resigned from the position tonight.

Lordswood are presently sitting in 13th place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, with 24 points (seven wins, three draws) from their 21 games.

Richard Dimmock and his assistant Mike Jones and coach Jason Long joined the club just after Christmas 2021 with the club languishing at the foot of the table and at risk of relegation,” said a club statement.

“Supporters will remember the drama of the last game of the season that saw us draw at home to Holmesdale thanks to a last minute penalty and with results going the right way in the Essex League we were saved from relegation via Points Per Game.

“The club would like to place on record its thanks to Richard, Mike and Jason for all their hard work and efforts during their time in charge.

“We will now be considering our options regarding the appointment of a new manager.”

Lordswood – without a win in three games – are without a game this week and return to action when they welcome Kennington to Martyn Grove on Tuesday 17 January (19:45).

The Medway side are currently seven points clear of the relegation zone, that contains Bearsted and Canterbury City.

Dimmock took charge of 39 league games, winning 11, drawing six and losing 22.
