LORDSWOOD manager Richard Styles says the club is in a good place at the moment.

The club are in the top six in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 22 points from their 13 league games, six points adrift of leaders Sevenoaks Town, who have a couple of games in hand.

Lordswood welcome Sheppey United in the league tomorrow and Styles said: “I am looking forward to the game.  Our recent matches against Sheppey have always been eventful and I see no reason why tomorrow will be any different.

“We played them earlier in the season drawing 3-3 at their place and it was the least we deserved.

“We know what we have to do tomorrow in order to win the game and that’s what we’ll do.  Sheppey are coming into the game on a decent run, so we know we need to be at our best.”

Reflecting on their past two games, a 1-0 defeat at Canterbury City, followed by a 3-2 defeat at Rusthall, Styles reflected: “The past two results haven’t gone our way.  Last Saturday we looked very leggy after three games in seven days, two of which being over an hour travelling, as well as having a number of injuries and knocks, so it finally took its toll.

“But this week we have had a chance to rest, recuperate and prepare right for tomorrow’s game.  In terms of us and our outlook nothing has changed at all and we go again tomorrow.

“We go into a big month now with three out of four home games, where we play Sheppey United twice (one league, one cup), The FA Vase at Southall and then another home game against Deal Town.

“The club is a good place to be at the moment and it’s exciting with the players and squad we have.  The attendances have risen also with a few local incentives we have made as well as the introduction of ball boys that we started at the end of last season, we continue working hard on and off the pitch, trying to get as many fans through the door as possible, but as always, I, my staff and the players appreciate all of the support at the games and feel it has really made a difference this season so far.”
