It’s going to be a tough league as a lot of clubs have been making some decent signings in pre-season but we are ready and looking forward to our new challenge, says Larkfield & New Hythe boss Kris Browning

LARKFIELD & NEW Hythe manager Kris Browning says his side are looking forward to their new challenge tomorrow.

The ambitious New Hythe Lane outfit have brought in a number of players whom have played at a higher level this summer and will be one of the favourites to win promotion from the Southern Counties East Football League First Division.

The Larks kick-off their debut campaign in the tenth-tier of English football with a trip to Charlton to play Bridon Ropes.

“We are all excited at the club about starting the season tomorrow,” said the former K Sports boss, who has taken his last two clubs from the Kent County League into this level of football.

“A lot of time and effort has gone into the ground, club and team in the last 18 months and to be playing at Step Six is a massive achievement for everyone involved in the club.

“Bridon Ropes will be a tough start for us. I’ve known them for many years and they’re always an organised and solid team.

“Pre-season has gone well and we have built up a decent squad. I’ve kept several players from last season and brought in several new players and all have blended in well.

“It’s going to be a tough league as a lot of clubs have been making some decent signings in pre-season but we are ready and looking forward to our new challenge.”
