Fisher game is promising to be a good game for the neutral, says Kent Football United boss Ennio Gonnella

KENT FOOTBALL UNITED boss Ennio Gonnella says tomorrow’s home game against relegated Fisher will be a good game to watch.

The Dartford based outfit finished in the top four in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table last season, while Fisher suffered relegation from the top-flight.

“Tomorrow’s game is promising to be a good game for the neutral,” said Gonnella.

“Personally, I welcome Fisher to the Glentworth, it’s a club close to me as I started my first real coaching role for the youth section under Gavin Rose many years ago in the Conference South.

“They are a very proud club and I’m sure their targets this year are to bounce back from last year.

“They are a well-drilled and organised side that work hard so it’s going to be a tough game.

“Us on the other hand find a great and vibrant atmosphere in the camp, mainly due to a very good performance on Tuesday night against Sutton.”

Kent Football United opened their campaign with 2-0 home defeat to Stansfeld last Saturday, but they bounced back with a 3-0 win at Sutton Athletic in midweek.

“Sutton performed well and it took until the last half hour for the first goal and it was taken extremely well by Nicholas Gonsalves, a skilful finish from Daryl Dylan for the second and a well finished penalty from captain Ahmed Deen for our third,” reflected Gonnella.

“Special mentions to Aaron Dalhouse and Thomas Pratt, who were outstanding on Tuesday night as well, a great team performance.

“We knew from Saturday’s loss to Stansfeld that a result will come as from a bad 15-20 minutes on Saturday saw us chasing the game but the performance especially second half was very promising, missed chances, good chances, added with some spectacular saves from their keeper, meant we saw a defeat on the opening game.”

Kent Football United are without Antonio Gonnella, Chris Hubbard and Marcus Cassius tomorrow.

“Laurent Hamici has re-signed for the club, which is great as Laurent is a talented player and one that’s highly rated,” added the manager.
