A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to get the club in a position to acquire a top four finish and that’s what we will be setting out to do, says Kent Football United joint-manager Richmond Kissi

Thursday 01st August 2019

KENT FOOTBALL United joint-manager Richmond Kissi says his side will play some good football as they set out to reach one of the top four promotion places.

The Dartford based side are under new management in Kissi and Steve Devereux after Danny Wakeling answered a call from newly-promoted side Welling Town to become their manager on Thursday 4 July 2019.

Kissi takes charge of his first game in senior management when Forest Hill Park visit Lowfield Street on Saturday, on the opening day of the Southern Counties East Football League First Division season.

Forest Hill Park finished in seventh-place in Lee Roots’ only season in charge of the club, before returning to manage Bromley based Holmesdale.

The Ladywell Arena outfit have turned to Darrell Queeley to manage the side this season against a Kent Football United side that finished in the bottom five last season.

“Just wanted to say after what was a very hectic pre-season, we have finally settled on a squad we believe will more than hold their own in what is a very tough league to get out of,” said Kissi.

“Forest Hill will be in a similar situation to us, having brought in a new coaching staff and players’ but I still believe they will be a young, hungry side who would want to get points on the board just as much as we are.

“Our aspirations for the season is first of all get the squad that we have assembled to gel quickly and be very competitive.

“We will play some good football as that’s the style I want us to have.”

Four clubs will win promotion at the end of the season and everyone is targeting that aspiration this campaign.

“A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to get the club in a position to acquire a top four finish and that’s what we will be setting out to do,” added Kissi.
