Kent FA unveil sponsorship deal for Senior Cup - Kent County Cup Draws published

The draw has been made for the Kent Senior Cup and Kent FA is delighted to announce that PortableFloodlights.com will sponsor the county’s top football competition this season.


In a statement issued today by Kent County Football Association chief executive, Paul Dolan, he said: “This is a very exciting time for the Kent Senior Cup and we are delighted to welcome Portbalefloodlights.com as the new competition sponsor."

"Bringing back the magic to the Kent Senior Cup and raising its profile was high on my agenda when I took over as Chief Executive of the Kent FA in February. With the return of both Charlton Athletic and Gillingham this season I hope the crowds will return to see some great local teams compete in this historic competition.”

The Kent Senior Cup has been fought over since 1894. It started life as the Kent Badge and was won for the first three years by Chatham. Maidstone United have won the cup twelve times, more than any other club.

Last season’s final saw Dartford beat Bromley 4-1 to lift the Kent Senior Cup for the first time in 23 years in front of more than 2,000 fans.

KENT AIR AMBULANCE INTERMEDIATE CHALLENGE SHIELD

Kent Air Ambulance say they’re thrilled that one of the county’s most prestigious football competitions will be named after their organisation this coming season.

 

The Kent Air Ambulance Intermediate Challenge Shield will see 38 teams from the haart of Kent County Football League and the newly formed Kent Invicta Football League competing for the historic Shield.

Mr Dolan said: “The Kent Air Ambulance is a fantastic organisation that helps save so many lives and we are delighted to support it through the Kent Intermediate Challenge Shield this season.”

“We will be clearly demonstrating our corporate social responsibility as the custodians of football in Kent by using the prestige of one of our largest County Cups to highlight the outstanding work carried out by Kent Air Ambulance.”

The Kent Air Ambulance Trust is a registered charity that can deliver a highly skilled team of doctors and critical care paramedics to the scene of an emergency anywhere in the county within minutes.

Every penny of the £1.7 million it costs each year to keep the life-saving helicopter in our skies comes from individuals, groups, businesses and companies from all over Kent.

Jill Playle, Air Ambulance Head of Communications, said “We are thrilled that Kent FA has chosen our charity as a cause for this countywide football competition. The service has been scrambled on more than one occasion to help with emergencies at football matches, so it seems fitting that players and fans and the Kent FA will be supporting us this coming season.”

Kent FA hopes funds for the charity will be raised through collections at this season’s Kent Air Ambulance Intermediate Challenge Shield games.
