I want to be involved with a serious ambitious club, says Chris Tuley

CHRIS TULEY says he is still looking for a new job after quitting as the manager of Seven Acre & Sidcup after only one season in charge at Oxford Road.

Tuley and his entire management team quit the club on 31 May after guiding them to their highest league position in their entire history of fifth-place in the Kent Invicta League and they reached two Hospitals Cup Finals, losing the first one to Meridian before beating Tudor Sports 2-1 to win the Beckenham Hospital Invitation Charity Cup Final on 22 May.

The Sidcup-based club has since appointed a new management team in the shape of Danny Wakeling and his assistants Martin Reece and Wayne Baldacchino on 15 June, leaving Tuley to find a new club.

“It was disappointing leaving Seven Acre to be honest,” admitted Tuley, 32.

“We put a lot of hard work and effort in to the club, the teams and that showed in our achievements last season.

“We took what was a below average team in its first year of Invicta League football and turned them into a top five Invicta League side who people are now talking about, as well as the club.

“I think if we would have stayed we would have been pushing this year for the top three – no question – now Phoenix and Ashford have been promoted!”

Tuley said he is searching for an ambitious club.

He said: “I’ve had a few offers from elsewhere, which I’m pondering on at present.

“I want to be involved with a serious ambitious club that share the same ambitions as me, such as professionalism and most importantly, success.

“I’m not going to rush in to anything and just take something for the sake of it, my next move needs to be right, with the right club, however long it takes!

“I won’t be out of football too long.  I know a few people within the non-league set-up so I can help them out, whether through coaching, scouting, whatever, until the right job comes along, that’s what I will do.

“Right now, I’m enjoying a little bit of time to myself as well as coming up with new football ideas and plans for the future.

“If anyone did want to contact me about future possibilities, they would be welcome.”
