Hythe Town boss Scott Porter unveils Tom Parkinson as his third summer signing

Sunday 29th May 2011
HYTHE TOWN boss Scott Porter has been busy in the transfer market as he has revealed his third summer signing.

Striker Lloyd Blackman and full-back Aaron Lacy have already joined from Whitstable Town and Margate respectively and Porter has today enticed centre-back Tom Parkinson, 19, to sign from Maidstone United.

Porter, 32, who is preparing for the club’s inaugural Ryman League Division One South campaign after winning the Kent League last season, told www.hythetownfc.co.uk:  “We tried to get Tom last year but he stayed where he was.  We’ve always had him on the list for this season.  He’s got good experience at a higher level for a young lad and he fits into the mould with the rest of the squad.

“We’ve strengthened in every area so far and we’re very happy to have a settled squad."

Tom, whose older brother Jack plays for Blue Square Bet South side Welling United, played in both the Ryman Premier and Ryman Division One South last season, spending time on loan at play-off chasing Burgess Hill Town.
