Tim Dixon brings Dan Stubbs back to Hythe Town

Friday 19th June 2015

HYTHE TOWN manager Tim Dixon has unveiled his second summer signing in the shape of the returning Dan Stubbs.

The midfielder previously played for the club in a spell spanning the final 15 games of the season before last.

Stubbs, 25, set up seven goals and scored two of his own during his relatively short time at Reachfields Stadium.

Stubbs started off his career as a member of Ebbsleet United’s youth ranks before his first taste of Ryman League Division One South football for Whitstable Town back in 2007.

He then signed for Margate and has had a couple of spells at Maidstone United, including being part of their Ryman League Division One South play-off winners’ squad.

Stubbs also played for KA Akureyri in Iceland’s second tier and has also had a spell at Dover Athletic.

Dixon told www.hythetownfc.co.uk: “Not only is Stubbsy a very good footballer, but he’s a great lad to have in the dressing room.

“He can’t wait to get going this season and he will be a fantastic addition to the squad!”

The Cannons, who finished their Ryman League Division One South campaign in sixteenth-place last season, kick-off their pre-season campaign with a home game against Ryman League Division One North side Thamesmead Town on Saturday 11 July 2015.
