HOLLANDS & BLAIR manager Bryan Greenfield says he’s relishing tomorrow’s home test against Ashford United.

Blair finished runners-up to promoted champions Greenwich Borough last season, while Ashford finished in third-place, in what proved to be Paul Piggott’s last season in charge of the Gillingham-based club.

Hollands & Blair go into tomorrow’s game sitting in seventh-place on 14 points from their 8 games, while Danny Lye’s men are fourth with 15 points from seven league outings.

“With regards to tomorrow’s game, we’re very much looking forward to it and it’s one of many reasons why the club tried so hard to push themselves into the Kent League because you enjoy days like these.

“Ashford are obviously heavily favoured for the league and quite rightly so for many reasons but we are looking forward to the fixture and a chance to prove ourselves again.

“Nothing is won or lost in September so for us it’s just another game that we’ll relish and enjoy.”

Hollands & Blair beat Southern Counties East Football League First Division newcomers Snodland Town 4-0 in the Kent Reliance Senior Trophy Preliminary Round last weekend.

“It was a tough game last week against Snodland as expected and these are the games that challenge you more as a club sometimes when you’re heavily favoured and everyone expects you to win,” said Greenfield.

“So it was pleasing to get the win and onto a tough looking game away to Cray Valley in the next round, which we’ll look forward to.”
