Hockton collects Ryman League Golden Boot accolade

The first series of the Ryman Football League Monthly Awards for season 2006/07, covering the months of August and September 2006, were announced this morning.

And Kent football has been the forefront of collecting today’s awards, with Bromley, Dover Athletic and Margate picking up the accolades.

Bromley’s big spending manager Mark Goldberg has picked up the manager of the month award in the Ryman Premier League with Dover Athletic (division one south) collecting the Team Performance award and hot-shot Danny Hockton, whose scored nine goals for Margate, picking up the Golden Boot.

The award for the "Team Performances of the Month" recognises a particularly noteworthy performance by a Club during that month.

Boreham Wood had a convincing 6-1 win in the League against Margate, currently top of the Premier Division at the time.

AFC Hornchurch and Dover achieved notable wins in the Second Round Qualifying of the FA Cup on the last day of the month, beating Boreham Wood and Conference South club Thurrock respectively.

This season the Manager of the Month Awards, based on a Club's performance in Ryman League matches only, will be sponsored by Errea Sport Ltd.

The Manager of the Month in each Division will receive a memento and items of clothing from Errea Sport.

The Company will also sponsor the annual award at the end of the season, and will be providing each club in the League with two captain's armbands.

The Team Performance of the Month awards will again be sponsored by GX Soccer, with all first team games in all competitions being considered for this particular award.

The Golden Gloves monthly award will be sponsored this season by Pro Secure in association with the Professional Footballers Association. Each Divisional winner will receive a pair of goalkeeper's gloves, a case of Highland Spring water and a framed certificate.

For the new Golden Boot monthly award, sponsored by Redeye Sports Management, the player scoring the highest number of goals in League matches in the respective month will receive a pair of leading brand football boots, a case of isotonic drink mix and a framed certificate.

In addition Pro Secure in association with the Professional Footballers Association have agreed to provide a Match Day Programme of the Year Award in each Division at the end of the season, with an item of gym equipment being presented to the winning Clubs.
