Greenwich Borough bring in two from Dartford's Academy

Wednesday 13th November 2013

FISHER manager Billy Walton says there have been changes both on and off the field ahead of their trip to Greenwich Borough on Saturday.

The Fish are in the bottom two in the Southern Counties East Football League table with two wins and two draws from their thirteen league games.

They travel to Princes Park to play a Greenwich Borough side that are five places higher, having collected four wins, two draws from eleven games.

The club revealed Grant Mason has decided to take a step back.

“Grant has been a tremendous help over the last few months, particularly helping to bring through some of the talented players he managed in Fisher’s youth team,” Walton told www.fisherfc.co.uk.

“I’d like to put on record my gratitude for everything he has done to help me so far this season and I am sure we’ll be seeing him at matches.”

And while Mason won’t be in the dug-out, he remains a key figure at the club as he continues to serve on the club board as an elected director.

Mason said: “I leave the dressing room on excellent terms with Bill and Keith (Jarvis) and I look forward to watching the Fish continue to improve.

“I am pleased to be able to continue to help the club as a board member.”

Meanwhile, on the pitch, Walton has made a few recent additions, including the return of striker Troy Copeland after a brief spell at Erith Town.

Walton has also secured the signature of right-back Aaron Seales, who made his debut in the 3-1 win at Rochester United in the League Cup.

Central midfielder, Jamie Taylor, has left the club.

Greenwich Borough manager John Cumberbatch, meanwhile, has recruited his son Marc from Holmesdale and has brought in former Chelmsford City and Whyteleafe midfielder Dean Palmer.

As expected, Greenwich Borough have delved into landlords Dartford to bring in some promising youngsters from their Academy and Ronnie Vint and Kaka Dembele have both signed dual registrations from the Conference Premier club.

Both players have been in the Dartford team in the Kent Senior Cup this season and Vint has been on the bench in the league.
