We go into the Shoreham game on a high but will not be taking them lightly, says Greenwich Borough boss Gary Alexander

Friday 22nd September 2017

GREENWICH BOROUGH boss Gary Alexander says a large majority of his team must be on their game against struggling Shoreham tomorrow.

Alexander’s side are in tenth-place in the Bostik South table with a playing record of three wins, two draws and one defeat in the league this season.

Shoreham, meanwhile, are rooted to the foot of the table on their debut at this level, claiming one point from their seven league outings.

“The last week in terms of results have been good and performance is improving all the time, which is all we can ask for,” said Alexander.

“Beating Molesey 4-1 and beating Ashford 2-0 in The Velocity Trophy was pleasing and confidence boosting after letting a 2-0 lead slip early against East Grinstead.

“We go into the Shoreham game on a high but will not be taking them lightly.  They’re in the league for a reason and I’m sure will offer a tough test as does any other team in the league, so we’re going there to win a football match as we do every week but to get a result.”

Alexander, who guided his club to a third-place finish in their debut campaign last time out, added: “Nine or 10 players out of 11 must be on their game.”
