I’m sure Ashford will come to us hoping to turn their season around but we’re well prepared and ready, says Greenwich Borough boss Gary Alexander

GREENWICH BOROUGH boss Gary Alexander says his players will have to be on it against struggling Ashford United tomorrow.

Greenwich Borough sit in third-place in the Bostik South table, with 28 points from 14 games.

Lewes are at the summit after a 4-0 win at East Grinstead Town tonight puts them on 36 points from 15 games, followed by Sittingbourne on 29 points from 14 league outings.

Ashford United, meanwhile, have struggled in the Bostik South this season after winning the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division title last season and have collected nine points from 15 games, a couple of points ahead of Shoreham, who occupy the sole relegation berth.

“We’re back at home after a long break from league action against Ashford, a break that has allowed us to rest and recover from what’s been a real tough month,” said Alexander.

“It’s allowed us to get lads back to fitness and freshen up for what looks to be a tough run of games but one we will attack like we have in October and see where it takes us.

“I’ll say it again, we have to be on it tomorrow against Ashford. They have signed a few new players and are hoping to push themselves up the table so we must be switched on and do things right and that will give us the best chance of three points.

“I’m sure they’ll come to us hoping to turn their season around but we’re well prepared and ready for what I’m sure will be an entertaining game against a well-supported Ashford side.”
